What does Programs do?

The Programs subcommittee's main purpose is to develop the leadership skills of the sophomores within MSCC Lead. We plan and facilitate the general committee meetings for MSCC Lead held on Wednesday nights at 8:30. Through our meetings, we aim to help members build close bonds with each other while they become stronger leaders. This year we are focusing on eight leadership themes: L- License to lead, E- Examine yourself, A- Accept others, D- Develop communication skills, G- Group work, U- Utilize your skills, T- Tomorrow, S- Success. LEAD GUTS! We use a variety of activities, panels, and guest speakers to introduce our members to different ideas and leadership styles.

The Programs subcommittee is also responsible for planning and facilitating our Fall and Spring Retreats. The fall retreat is focused on meeting new members and informing them about MSCC Lead. The spring retreat is focused on building stronger bonds with fellow members and enhancing leadership skills. At the retreats, we have friendly competitions, leadership speakers and activities, and time set aside to build relationships with members.
